Will Lecky, Co-founder

Will is an expert in the analysis of public funding, with broad experience in appraising, evaluating and making the case for investments in science, research, innovation, energy & space. Since co-founding know.consulting in 2019, he has delivered studies for funders, universities and UK / international public bodies. Previously, he led multidisciplinary analytical teams in major research funding bodies (UKRI & UKSA), and has broader experience in UK central government (BEIS/BIS/DECC), regional government and Brussels. He holds an M.Sc. and an M.A. (Hons) in Economics from UCL and the University of Edinburgh.


Greg Sadlier, Co-founder

Greg is an expert on the returns to investment in R&D, science & innovation, and a respected thought leader in the economics of applied innovation. Over the course of his career he has undertaken over 100 R&D-related research studies, and for more than a decade, he has pioneered innovative analytical techniques to provide valued insights and trusted advice to decision-makers. Prior to co-founding know.consulting, Greg was Divisional Director at London Economics. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics, an M.A. and a B.A. in Economics & Business from the University of Dublin, Trinity College. Greg focuses primarily on our space-related projects under our know.space brand.


Alyssa Frayling, Senior Manager

Alyssa is an internationally-experienced Manager with a background in delivering high-profile analytical projects, including impact assessments, monitoring & evaluation frameworks, market studies, and competitive analyses. She has worked with UK and European public institutional bodies such as the European Commission and UKRI, as well as with private actors across the research and innovation landscape. Prior to joining know.space, Alyssa was a Principal Analyst in the UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) Strategy team, and previously worked as a Senior Analyst in PwC’s Space team. She has a M.Sc. in Space Studies from ISU and a B.Sc. in Computer & Management Sciences from the University of Warwick.


Luca Niccolai, Consultant

Luca is experienced in evaluating multi-phase investments in wide-ranging sectors (e.g. agribusiness, nuclear decommissioning). He has developed business cases for R&D infrastructure, and delivered capabilities mapping, requirement and market studies. He has a rich track record of designing and leading large-scale consultation exercises and visually communicating complex information. Prior to joining know.consulting, he conducted research on public policy and sustainability for US, UK and French organisations. He holds 1st class honours in his M.Sc. International Business & Management (AMBS) and B.A.Sc. (Hons) International Relations & Sustainable Development (University of Warwick).


Eloise Trimingham, Consultant

Eloise leverages her background in economics to deliver analytically rigorous studies for a range of public (e.g. Department for Science, Innovation and Technology) and private clients. She has experience in economic modelling, notably having developed the model for the ‘Size and Health of the UK Space Industry 2022’ project. Eloise has also led consultations, drafted reports and conducted literature reviews for studies including the Returns and Benefits from Public Space Investments 2021 and the Case for Space 2023. Eloise holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.


Ewan Dallas, Analyst

Ewan possesses robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and is experienced in delivering projects across the research and innovation landscape. He has contributed to a variety of studies, impact evaluations and monitoring & evaluation projects for public agencies, including UK Research and Innovation and the UK Space Agency, and has produced an evaluation report for an international NGO. Ewan holds a Master's degree from the University of Cambridge, where he conducted research on policy-based drivers of technological innovation.


Sara Cucaro, Economist

Sara joined after graduating from her M.Sc. in International Development at the London School of Economics. By combining her development economics studies with a strong interest in research and innovation, she brings rigorous quantitative research skills and approaches challenges with a positive attitude. Prior to LSE, she achieved first class honours in her MSc International Economics (Università di Milano-Bicocca) and B.Sc. International Relations and Global Affairs (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), while taking part in training opportunities in Panama, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and France.
